Eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty is performed in selected cases with saggy, herniated or droopy eyelids as well as to improve the obstructed visual field or in cases who wants to look younger.
Surgery can be planned for both the upper and lower eyelids. We often prefer to perform only the upper eyelid operation under local anesthesia, whereas lower eyelid surgery or upper and lower eyelid surgery is carried out under general anesthesia.
Since the eyelids can hide the scars very well, they often become unrecognizable in time.
The procedure lasts between 1 hour or 2 hours. If used, the skin tapes are removed after 3-5 days.
